Product Introduction

It receives synchronization logic, relay output contacts, drives the generator grid-connected circuit breaker closing circuit, and performs protection actions such as reverse power, overcurrent, overvoltage, and undervoltage. It outputs hard contacts to trigger circuit breaker tripping, unit shutdown, and switch hard contacts for unit operation, readiness, and fault status. It interfaces with the ship's PMS power management system.

  I. Core Functions

This board is an internal slot-type relay output board for the controller. It does not perform measurements or logic operations; it only executes commands issued by the main control unit and outputs passive dry contacts.

Synchronous Closing Output: Receives synchronization logic, relay output contacts, and drives the generator grid-connected circuit breaker closing circuit.

Protection Trip Output: Outputs hard contacts for reverse power, overcurrent, overvoltage, undervoltage, and other protection actions, triggering circuit breaker tripping and unit shutdown.

Alarm Signal Output: Fault and warning status relay outputs, connecting to the engine room alarm system, alarm indicator lights, and external alarm relays.

Unit Status Output: Hard contacts for unit operation, readiness, and fault status, connecting to the ship's PMS power management system. Internal Bus Interaction: The backplane socket connects to the PPU-2 internal bus, receiving logic levels from the main control board to drive the onboard relay coils.

  II. Application Scenarios

Marine Power Stations: Parallel protection and control of multiple diesel generators, ship main switchboard, and emergency power station control systems.

Land-based Backup Power Stations: Complete systems using the Multi-Line2 platform PPU-2 controller in industrial plants with multiple generator units in parallel or isolated grid operation.

Supporting Equipment: Works with the PMS power management system to complete parallel operation, protection tripping, and status hard signal interaction.

  III. Usage and Maintenance Precautions

  Hardware Compatibility

Only the designated slots on the chassis can be used; other series boards cannot be used interchangeably.

  Relay Load Limits

Relay resistive loads are limited to a maximum of 8A, UL certified 2A; inductive loads (contactors, coils) must have an RC surge absorption circuit added to prevent contact arcing.

Do not drive high-power loads with excessive current; otherwise, the relay will be quickly damaged.

  Marine Environmental Protection

In high humidity and salt spray environments, focus on inspecting the backplane gold fingers to prevent oxidation and corrosion; disconnect power before disassembly and reassembly. The gold fingers can be cleaned with anhydrous alcohol.

Maintain ventilation inside the chassis to prevent condensation from causing leakage and short circuits on the circuit boards.

  Disassembly and Repair Points

Completely power off the entire unit before inserting or removing circuit boards. Hot-swapping is strictly prohibited to prevent damage to the backplane bus.

Fault Diagnosis: When the controller issues an action command, measure whether the relay coil is energized; if the coil is energized but the contacts are not continuous, the circuit board is confirmed to be damaged.

Do not replace the relays on the board yourself; matching parameters are critical, and repairs will reduce reliability.

  Fault Differentiation

External wiring and external relay faults can also cause invalid outputs. Do not directly conclude that the circuit board is damaged; first check the external circuitry.
