  Basic features

  Appearance and structure: The module is a 9U high printed circuit board with an integral front panel and front and rear connectors; a plug-in daughter board with RS232 interface circuit. All input/output modules are equipped with two mechanical encoding blocks with pins that can be matched with the holes on the corresponding module blocks in the chassis to prevent the module from being inserted into the wrong slot. The pins on the module blocks are installed according to the module-determined pattern before leaving the factory, and the unused holes are blocked with fixing screws.

  Installation location: In the system, a serial communication module must be used and installed in slot 10 to support communication between system processors and between host and workstation.

  Function Application

  Serial communication: Provides multiple RS232 serial ports to support communication with various serial devices. It can connect serial devices such as PLC, inverter, and sensor to achieve automatic control.

  Data transmission: Realizes data exchange between SC300E system and external devices, used to collect operating data of various devices and transmit them to the host computer.

  Remote monitoring: Can be used to monitor and control remote devices.

  Fault diagnosis: With fault diagnosis function, problems can be quickly located and solved.

  System support: A serial communication module must be used in the system and installed in slot 10 to support communication between system processors and between host and workstation. Its main functions include loading application software, monitoring ladder diagrams and performing diagnostics, which are mainly implemented through port 0 of the module. In addition, the module also has additional modules that can be applied to any other I/O slots and prevent "wrong slotting" through mechanical coding blocks.


  Technical parameters

  Isolation and power supply: The communication port is isolated from the module circuit by an optical isolator and connected to the field connector J2 at the rear of the module. These ports can power modems or line drivers for long-distance transmission. The power supply for the module circuit comes from the dual redundant SC300E power supply unit, independent circuits and regulation circuits that power different logic areas, and independent power supplies for the communication port optical isolator and interface.

  Communication interface: Communication serial RS232, Intel family microcontroller.

  Communication port: Port 0, Port 1, Port 2, Port 3 are all RS232 interfaces, and the baud rate can be set to 9600 or 19200. Ports 2 and 3 must be set to the same baud rate. The isolation voltage of ports 0 to 3 is 1kV. There is also a fifth port dedicated to diagnostic purposes.

  Indicators: There are indicators such as Tx, Rx, Health, 3 x Online, etc.

  Hot repair program: Support single-slot hot repair.

  Module power consumption: 3.5W.
