　　U.S. President Donald Trump told Fox News that China has agreed to buy 200 Boeing aircraft. A video aired Thursday showed the number of jets exceeded Boeing's initial expectation of 150.

　　"He agreed to one thing today, which is to order 200 planes. That's a big deal. Boeing planes," Trump said in an interview with Fox News, referring to Chinese President Xi Jinping. "Boeing originally wanted 150, and they gave us 200."

　　Analysts had previously predicted that Boeing would receive a large order following Trump's visit to China, with Jefferies estimating the order could reach 500 aircraft. Boeing CEO Kelly Ottberg and other U.S. company executives accompanied Trump on his trip to China.

　　The manufacturer hasn't received a large order from China in nearly a decade, but China has been buying from Boeing's main competitor, Airbus.

　　Trump did not specify which aircraft China could buy from Boeing, but analysts had expected the potential order to include hundreds of Boeing's best-selling 737 Max aircraft.

　　Neither Boeing nor the White House immediately commented. Boeing shares closed down 4.73% on Thursday, but rose 0.29% in after-hours trading.

　　"The U.S.-China summit could be a meaningful opportunity for us," Ottberg said on the company's earnings call last month, "potentially including aircraft orders."

　　"I won't tell you the exact number of aircraft, but it's a very large number," he said.
