It connects to and collects data from various intelligent electronic devices such as protective relays, power quality monitors, meters, PLCs, and RTUs through four Ethernet ports and six serial ports (RS232 or RS485). It supports over thirty industrial communication protocols, including IEC 61850 (including GOOSE and MMS), DNP3.0, Modbus RTU and TCP, IEC 60870-5-101 and 104, IEC 62439-3, etc., enabling seamless data exchange between devices from different manufacturers and using different protocols, thus solving the problem of information silos.

As
a remote control communication gateway, it can communicate with the SCADA or EMS
system of the upper-level dispatch center as a master station or slave station,
uploading real-time data, event alarms, and fault waveform files, while
simultaneously receiving remote control and remote adjustment commands. It has a
built-in high-performance processor and large-capacity storage, supporting the
storage and forwarding of event logs, SOE sequential event logs, and COMTRADE
format fault waveforms. It possesses programmable logic control capabilities,
enabling the execution of local automation logic such as interlocking and
sequential control. It adopts a fanless design, with an operating temperature
range of -40°C to +70°C, and supports dual power supply redundancy input of
88-300V DC or 85-264V AC, ensuring uninterrupted critical communication
channels. It has a built-in firewall, user rights management and security log,
complies with network security standards such as NERC CIP, can be configured,
programmed, monitored and diagnosed through GE Enervista software, and supports
online firmware upgrades.
