PVS8001700-TB2 belongs to the ABB PVS800 series of centralized
photovoltaic inverters, with a rated power of 1,700 kW (1.7 MW), making it one
of the high-power models in this series. ABB
classifies it as a "Central Inverter," but some industry classifications also
refer to it as a "string inverter"—here, "string inverter" refers to a topology
where multiple MPPT strings are connected in a combined manner, rather than the
currently mainstream low-power string inverters (such as the 25kW-class products
of the Huawei SUN2000 series).
